Pac 12 Football
2025 Pac-12 football to be featured nationally across CBS, The CW and ESPN
Kickoff times and broadcast lineup set for all 13 home football games
across Oregon State and Washington State for the 2025 season
The Pac-12 Conference in partnership with CBS Sports, The CW Network and ESPN today announced that the 2025 football season will feature all 13 home football games across Oregon State and Washington State on one of the three broadcasters, including two on the CBS Television Network (and streaming on Paramount+), nine on The CW and two on ESPN. These agreements with three leading broadcasters will again provide full national coverage to showcase the strength of Oregon State and Washington State football programs and student-athletes as well as the Pac-12 ahead of previously-announced expansion coming for the 2026-27 academic season.
In addition and notably for fans, all 13 home games across the three networks have finalized both kickoff times and channel designations as part of today’s announcement. Similar to 2024, Pac-12 Enterprises, the broadcast production arm of the conference, will produce all nine broadcasts for The CW.
“Having Pac-12 football featured across three leading broadcasters in CBS, The CW and ESPN in 2025 will provide tremendous exposure to showcase Oregon State, Washington State and our brand in the Pac-12’s final season before expansion,” said Pac-12 Commissioner Teresa Gould. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with The CW, to welcome a new partner in CBS Sports and to see a return of Pac-12 football on ESPN.”
Mike Perman, senior vice president of sports, The CW, added: “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the Pac-12 for a second year and bring more Oregon State and Washington State games to our growing audience of sports fans. Last season’s matchups were some of the most exciting and most-watched football games on CW Sports Football Saturdays, and we look forward to building on that momentum in 2025 alongside a packed fall sports schedule that includes ACC football games and NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff races.”
Dan Weinberg, executive vice president, programming, CBS Sports, offered: “The addition of the two Pac-12 games expands our primetime college football schedule this season, further strengthening our robust portfolio of marquee and meaningful matchups airing across our CBS Sports platforms.”
Kurt Dargis, ESPN senior director, programming, said: “Adding these games strengthens ESPN’s industry-leading college football slate. They deliver meaningful exposure for Oregon State and align well with opportunistic time slots across our platforms.”
Today’s announcement includes several highlights for both Oregon State and Washington State football programs, student-athletes, alumni and fans in 2025, including:
2025 Pac-12 Football Broadcast Highlights
Maximum reach & national exposure
– CBS and The CW will combine to broadcast 11 of the Pac-12’s 13 home games in 2025, reaching 100% of U.S. households via over-the-air broadcast networks.
Pac-12 football returns to ESPN
– After serving as longtime partners, Pac-12 football returns with two games featured nationally on ESPN in 2025 with Cal at Oregon State on Aug. 30 at 7:30p PT and Houston at Oregon State on Friday, Sept. 26 (previously scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27).
Kickoff times set ahead of the season
– For Beavers and Cougars fans, all three networks and the Pac-12 have finalized kickoff times for all 13 home games in 2025, the earliest announcement of all kickoff times in modern history for both programs.
Primetime matchups on CBS and Paramount+
– 2025 will see two Pac-12 home games on CBS and also stream live on Paramount+, including the 2025 Boeing Apple Cup at Gesa Field in Pullman on Sept. 20 (4:30p or 5:00p PT) and Washington State at Oregon State on Nov. 1 (4:30p or 5:00p PT).
Continued growth with The CW
– A total of nine Pac-12 home games will be featured across The CW in the league’s second year of the continued partnership, the network’s third year in sports, including Oregon State at Washington State on Nov. 29 (3:30p PT) – the second of two matchups in 2025’s home-and-home series between the two. In total, The CW will feature both Oregon State and Washington State five times in 2025.
“New Pac-12” double feature on The CW
– On Sept. 6, The CW will showcase a pair of future Pac-12 matchups as part of a tripleheader with Fresno State at Oregon State (12:30p PT) and San Diego State at Washington State (7:15p PT).
Last season, the Pac-12 saw strong viewership for its 13 home football games across Oregon State and Washington State. Featured across The CW (11) and FOX (two) for its home games, several notable viewership highlights from the 2024 season include:
2024 Pac-12 Football Viewership Highlights
Most-watched football game on The CW was the lone matchup between Washington State and Oregon State at Corvallis (695k). Top three most-watched football games on The CW (also, Colorado State at Oregon State – 568k and San Jose State at Washington State – 542k). Five of the top six most-watched football games on The CW (also, UNLV at Oregon State – 507k and Purdue at Oregon State – 452k). 11 games on The CW averaged 431k viewers (460k in nine games vs. FBS opponents). Two home games on FOX averaged 1.99m viewers (Oregon at Oregon State and Texas Tech at Washington State). Total viewership across all 13 home games on FOX and The CW averaged 671k. Washington State’s DIRECTV Holiday Bowl vs. Syracuse on FOX saw 2.93m viewers. Week 14 matchup of Oregon State at Boise State on FOX saw 1.68m viewers.
Last Fall, the Pac-12 along with Oregon State, Washington State and six leading universities and premier athletics departments, including Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State and Utah State, launched plans to create a new Pac-12 Conference. Though the new Pac-12 will not officially begin until the 2026-27 season, the current 2024-25 campaign offered an additional glimpse into the on-going and overall strength of the new Pac-12 from a competitive and brand perspective, with highlights over the past few seasons including:
The New Pac-12: Looking Ahead
Boise State earned a No. 3 overall seed in the first edition of the expanded College Football Playoff in 2024. Five of seven (71%) football programs have been featured in CFP Top 25 rankings over the past four seasons (Boise State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State and Washington State), one of only four conferences to have 70%-or-more of its programs ranked in the CFP Top 25 (based on conference membership composition as of the 2026-27 season). Six of seven (86%) football programs have been featured in the AP Top 25 over the past four seasons (also, Utah State) and four of seven in the last two seasons (Boise State, Fresno State, Oregon State and Washington State). Collective men’s basketball strength across the eight programs over the past five seasons would have represented the 4th-best conference based on average NET rankings, as displayed
here
(based on conference membership composition as of the 2026-27 season). Seven of eight men’s basketball programs have made the Men’s NCAA Tournament since 2021, with two appearances in the National Championship game in that time. Spanning a three-week period from Sept. 12 – Oct. 7, 2024, the collective new Pac-12 saw
over 20 million impressions and 830,000 engagements
across the Pac-12’s and all eight members’ social media for the three expansion announcements.
NOTE: The Pac-12 will add at least one more football-playing, all-sports member to begin with the 2026-27 season, not reflected in the figures and highlights above.
While today’s announcement solidifies the Pac-12’s 2025 media rights partnerships for Oregon State and Washington State, the league and its exclusive media rights advisor, Octagon, continue the conference’s transformational process to finalize its future media rights partnerships for the new Pac-12 beginning in 2026. Octagon served as advisor for the Pac-12’s 2025 media rights agreements. Oregon State and Washington State are currently operating as members of the Pac-12 Conference as part of a NCAA two-year grace period and will continue to do so for the 2025-26 academic season prior to new members officially joining beginning with the 2026-27 season. All current and incoming members will continue to collaboratively chart additional membership as well as other business matters and future conference considerations. –
