TIMBERS DROP 3-1 RESULT TO HOUSTON DYNAMO FC IN SEASON FINALE AT PROVIDENCE PARK

Portland concludes 2023 MLS campaign


PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Portland Timbers dropped a 3-1 result to Houston Dynamo FC in their season finale at Providence Park on Saturday night. After falling behind 3-0 in the match, Felipe Mora put Portland on the board in the 80th minute of the match with his sixth goal of the season, but the Timbers were unable to complete the comeback. The match marked the conclusion of Portland’s 2023 campaign.  

2023 in Review
The Timbers (11-13-10, 43pts)finished the 2023 regular season in 10th place of the Western Conference standings, narrowly missing the postseason by one point. Santiago Moreno and Dario Zuparic led the team in appearances (31) this season, while Zuparic tallied the most starts (31). Evander scored a team-best nine goals and recorded a team-high 23 points (9G, 5A). Moreno led the Timbers in assists with nine, a new career best for the Colombian midfielder. Cristhian Paredes was named the Supporters’ Player of the Year. In 28 appearances (22 starts) this season, Paredes tallied two goals and three assists.
