EUGENE, Ore. – The 18th-ranked Oregon men’s golf team begins its spring campaign at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate at the Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club on Thursday. Live scoring for the three-day, 54-hole event will be available on GolfStat. 

THE FIELD

The Ducks will be a part of a 20-team field that features nine top-25 programs, including three of the top four teams:

No. 7 Arizona State, No. 1 Auburn, No. 12 Florida State, No. 11 Georgia Tech, Hawai’i Hilo (NCAA DII), Hawai’i, No. 2 North Carolina, Oklahoma State, No. 18 Oregon, Oregon State, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Pacific, Pepperdine, San Jose State, Stanford, No. 16 Texas, No. 22 Texas Tech, UC Davis, UCLA, No. 4 Washington

THE LINEUP

The Ducks’ starting lineup features four of the individuals who started at last season’s NCAA Championships:

1) No. 49 Nate Stember – 2023 All-Pac-12 Second Team.

2) No. 77 Greg Solhaug – 2023 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

3) Owen Avrit – 2023 PING All-America Third Team.

4) Greyson Leach – 2023 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

5) Eric Doyle – T-25 at the 2023 Maui Jim Individual

IND) Aiden Krafft – 2023 Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention.

TEE IT UP

• The Ducks begin their spring season at the prestigious Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Waimea, Hawaii, where they will join a 20-team field featuring nine top-25 programs. Oregon returns to the event after last season’s installment was canceled due to weather.
• The Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club will play as a par-72 course.
• Oregon came in at No. 18 in the most recent College Golf Rankings and are one of four Pac-12 programs to feature in the top 25. Individually, the Ducks are represented in the top 100 by Nate Stember (No. 49) and Greg Solhaug (No. 77).
• The Ducks are coming off a promising fall season that saw the team finish in the top five in three of its four events, finishing 17th in the final fall College Golf Rankings. Oregon’s most impressive performance was at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, finishing fourth in a field that featured 13 other top-25 programs including each of the top five. The Ducks shot 12-under par with help from Nate Stember and Greg Solhaug, who each finished in the top 10.
• Owen Avrit currently ranks 22nd in PGA TOUR University’s rankings for the class of 2024, while Nate Stember sits at 37th on the list. Oregon is one of just two Pac-12 programs with multiple players inside top 40 of the PGA TOUR-U rankings (Stanford).
• Fifth-year senior Nate Stember is climbing the ranks of the Oregon men’s golf record book in his final season as a Duck. With 435 career birdies, Stember is tied with Zach Foushee (2013-16) for the sixth most by any Duck since at least 1993-94, and is seeking to join Eugene Wong (505) and Daniel Miernicki (563) as the only three golfers in program history to eclipse 500 in a career.
• Oregon’s starting lineup is loaded with experience, featuring four of the same five starters they used during last season’s run at the 2023 NCAA Championships: Owen Avrit, Greyson Leach, Greg Solhaug and Nate Stember.
