Ducks Sending 11 to NCAA Indoors

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon track and field team will send 11 national qualifiers—eight individuals and two relays—to the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. This year’s meet is taking place March 8-9 at the TRACK at new balance in Boston. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ and through the ESPN app.

After a declaration process following the past weekend of conference and last chance meets, qualifiers were officially announced Tuesday evening.

Jadyn Mays leads the Ducks as a three-time qualifier while Maddy Elmore and Rafael Raap are making their respective NCAA Indoor debuts. Newcomer Annika Williams will also be making her third-career appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships but first in an Oregon kit.

Event: Mile 

Qualifying Mark: 4:30.38 

Second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships; first at Oregon…lifetime best of 4:30.38 at the Eagle Elite Invitational (Feb. 9)…became the No. 2 performer in program history…also clocked personal bests of 2:05.92 and 8:54.19 for 800 and 3,000 meters, respectively, this season…moved to third on UO top-10 list in the 3K…with South Carolina, finished 14th in the mile at the 2023 NCAA Indoor meet.

Maddy Elmore

Event: 3,000 Meters

Qualifying Mark: 8:50.43

First appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…broke the Oregon school record for 3,000 meters with a time of 8:50.43 at the BU Season Opener (Dec. 2)…took more than three seconds off the previous mark of 8:53.91 set by Jessica Hull in 2019…anchored the Ducks’ DMR to a school-record 10:47.50 at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 26)…ran lifetime best of 4:31.41 in the mile at the Ken Shannon Last Chance (Feb. 24); moved to No. 4 on the all-time UO list.

Klaudia Kazimierska

Event: Mile

Qualifying Mark: 4:30.33

Second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…broke the UO school record in the mile with a time of 4:30.33 at the Eagle Elite Invitational (Feb. 9)…surpassed the previous record of 4:31.03 held by Jessica Hull from 2019…ran the opening leg—3:15.73 for 1200 meters—of DMR that ran a UO record of 10:47.50 at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 26)…lowered lifetime best in the 800 to 2:03.46 on day two of the Razorback meet; No. 4 performer in program history…finished sixth in the mile at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Jadyn Mays

Event(s): 60 & 200 Meters

Qualifying Mark(s): 7.11 & 22.65

Third appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…second-consecutive season qualifying in both the 60 and 200 meters…ran a season-best time of 7.11 at the Ken Shannon Last Chance meet (Feb. 23); third win of the season…dropped time in each of four appearances (7.24-7.22-7.13-7.11) this season…stopped the clock in 22.58 to win the 200 meters at the Don Kirby Invitational (Feb. 9); time adjusted to 22.65 for qualifying purposes (altitude)…time matched her lifetime best from 2023 NCAA Indoor semifinal…placed fifth in the 60 and 200 at last year’s NCAA Indoor Championships.

Aaliyah McCormick

Event: 60m Hurdles

Qualifying Mark: 8.05

Second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…clocked a season-best time of 8.05 at the Ken Shannon Invitational (Feb. 23)…third meet win of the season; also won at the UW Indoor Preview, Don Kirby Invitational…improved time in each of four appearances (8.26-8.14-8.07-8.05) this year…finished third in a time of 8.14 at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 27)…was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Rafael Raap

Event: Heptathlon

Qualifying Mark: 5,757 points

First appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…scored 5,757 points to win the heptathlon at the Ken Shannon Last Chance…moved to No. 5 on the program’s all-time list…began competition with back-to-back lifetime bests of 6.97 in the 60 meters and 7.41m/24-3.75 in the long jump…cleared a collegiate PB of 4.75m/15-7 in the pole vault…established a personal best in the shot put of 15.31m/50-2.75 at the UW Indoor Preview (Jan. 13)…2023 Pac-12 runner-up in the decathlon.

Jaida Ross

Event: Shot Put

Qualifying Mark: 18.84m/61-9.75

Second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships…registered a lifetime best of 18.84m/61-9.75 during the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 27)…made her the then-No. 8 indoor performer in NCAA history, now ninth…currently stands as the No. 8 measure in the world…Razorback series also includes marks of 18.40 and 18.62 meters…won the Ken Shannon Last Chance with a day’s best of 18.39m/60-4…finished eighth in the shot put at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Annika Williams

Event: Pentathlon

Qualifying Mark: 4,149 points

Third appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships; first at Oregon…posted a winning score of 4,149 points at the Ken Shannon Last Chance (Feb. 23)…became the No. 3 performer in Oregon history in the pentathlon…during the meet, tied lifetime best in the hurdles (8.64) and set or tied season bests in the high jump, shot put and long jump…season-best clearance of 1.78m/5-10 in the high jump; tied for fifth on UO top-10 list…at Kentucky, qualified for the NCAA Indoor meet in 2021 (sixth place), 2023 (DNF).

Women’s 4x400m

Qualifying Team: Shana Grebo, Ella Clayton, Katriina Wright, Shaniya Hall

Qualifying Mark: 3:30.25

Women’s DMR

Qualifying Team: Klaudia Kazimierska, Ella Clayton, Ella Nelson, Maddy Elmore
