Sprouts Farmers Market, the Official Grocer of the Pac-12, has taken an active role in community impact and sustainability initiatives at the 2024 Pac-12 Women’s & Men’s Basketball Tournaments, presented by Acura, and upcoming 2024 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships, presented by Sprouts Farmers Market.
At both the women’s (March 6-10) and men’s (March 13-16) basketball tournaments in Las Vegas, Sprouts is sponsoring an on-court promotion in which bands of both competing institutions will compete to fill hundreds of care kits with snacks, to be donated to a local food bank in Las Vegas. Sprouts will donate all the food items to be assembled into the care kits.
Additionally, as the presenting partner of the gymnastics championships, Sprouts has committed to finance the offsetting of carbon for the following components of the event:
“Sprouts has been a wonderful partner and supporter of our student-athletes since joining the Pac-12 family in 2022, said Pac-12 Networks Executive Vice President, Sales, Partnerships & Distribution, Steve Tseng. “We are so pleased with their investment in community service and environmental sustainability and look forward to seeing their activations in action at our championship events.”
“At Sprouts, we pride ourselves on our commitment to giving back to our local communities,” said Alisa Gmelich, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Sprouts. “We are equally passionate about supporting athletes on their wellness and performance journeys. As part of these commitments, we are thrilled to support our Pac-12 partner at their upcoming Basketball Tournaments and look forward to creating change and driving sustainability initiatives together.”
Sprouts has been a partner of the league since being named Official Grocer of the Pac-12 in June 2022. Sprouts was the first-ever presenting partner of the Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships and has supported the Conference as an official sponsor of the football championship game, men’s & women’s basketball tournaments, and various Olympic sport championships.
