UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Jackson Lake and the Oregon State men’s golf team are coming home to Corvallis with a pair of titles.
Lake claimed the individual title at the Seattle Redhawk Invitational while the Beavers finished at 25-under par to claim the team title after two days at the par-71, 6,991-yard Chambers Bay Golf Course.
Lake capped his 54 holes of play with a third consecutive round under par, finishing Tuesday’s action at 2-under. It’s the first individual title of Lake’s collegiate career and the first by a Beaver since Mateo Fuenmayor was a co-champion at the Duck Invitational in 2023.
Lake tallied a tournament-best 17 birdies as the Beavers.
The team title, meanwhile, is Oregon State’s first since claiming the 2021 Duck Invitational. The 25-under mark is one of the best three-round finishes in school history. It was done after Oregon State shot a 14-under over the final 18 holes, also one of the best single-round team marks in the program’s history.
Four Beavers finished in the top-10 of the event, including three whose scores went toward the team total.
Following Lake was Mateo Fuenmayor, who took a third-place finish at 8-under 205. He also shot sub-par rounds in all three, with a 4-under 67 in the final 18 his best of the trip. He made 14 birdies over the two days.
Rylan Johnson matched Fuenmayor with a 4-under 67 Tuesday – tying for the Beavers’ individual best on the day. He shot back-to-back 1-under 70s on Monday, and lowered his score with the 4-under Tuesday.
Johnson tallied 12 birdies at the event.
Fuenmayor finished third while Johnson took fifth.
Collin Hodgkinson played as an individual at the Redhawk, and was a 2-under 211 finisher, tying for eighth. He tallied 10 birdies in Seattle.
Stanley Lin jumped almost 40 spots with his final round on Tuesday. The freshman matched Fuenmayor and Johnson with a 4-under 67, his second round under par at the event. He tied for 23rd. Lin made 16 birdies over the 54 holes.
Brandon Eyre tied for 20th thanks to a round at 71 – par – for the second time during the event. Eyre, competing as an individual, finished with ssss birdies. Eyre shot a 1-over 214 overall and finished with eight birdies.
Nicolas Quintero placed in a tie for 42nd after posting a 5-over 216. He finished his final round with a 1-over 72, and had seven birdies overall.
Alfred Raja finished in a tie for 8th after posting a 15-over 226 in Seattle. He totaled eight birdies during the event.
