BERKELEY, Calif. – Oregon State hit four home runs, including two by Mason Guerra, but the fifth-ranked Beavers dropped a 10-8 decision to California on a two-run walkoff home run by Seth Gwynn.
Elijah Hainline had tied the game in the ninth when he went deep for a two-run blast, his eighth long ball of the year. His opposite field came on the third pitch he saw from reliever Tyler Stasiowski.
Gwynn came to the plat with one on and two outs in the ninth, hitting the first pitch he saw from reliever Bridger Holmes over the left field fence.
Guerra hit his eighth and ninth home runs of the season. He went deep for a two-run blast in the third to pull OSU to within one. He hit his second of the game – going opposite field – during the Beavers’ four-run fifth inning. Wilson Weber hit his third home run of the year – a two-run home run – to tie the game later in the inning.
Cal went up with a solo run in the sixth and another in the seventh.
Holmes took the loss to drop to 2-2. Stasiowski, who pitched 1 1/3 innings, got the win, improving to 3-1 on the year.
Guerra, Weber and Jacob Krieg all had two hits to lead the Beavers (30-7 overall, 10-5 Pac-12 Conference) who tallied nine as a team. Cal (22-14, 9-10), meanwhile, tallied 14.

• Micah McDowell started for the first time since March 24 against Washington, a stretch of 13 games. He batted in the second spot of the lineup Friday.
• The Beavers hit at least one home run for the 19th consecutive game.
• OSU hit at least three home runs for the 11th time this year.
• Travis Bazzana posted his 221st career hit, tying him for seventh with Nick Madrigal in the Oregon State record books.
• The four home runs gave the Beavers 74 on the year, 15 shy of equaling the 2023 Beavers for most in a single season at OSU.
• Seventeen of the Beavers’ 25 hits on the road trip have gone for extra bases.
