EUGENE, Ore. – No. 24 Oregon men’s golf is headed to the postseason for a 17th consecutive season as the Ducks were selected as the No. 4 seed at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on Wednesday afternoon.
The tournament will be played at the University Club hosted by LSU from May 13-15. The Ducks played in this same regional in 2017, placing third as Wyndham Clark (2nd) and Norman Xiong (T-7th) each placed in the top 10 individually.
“I have some experience in this course from when we played the regional there in 2017,” head coach Casey Martin said. “It’s a tough test with some different grasses. Our guys will be ready for it.”
The Baton Rouge Regional is one of six 54-hole regionals, with the top five from each site advancing to the 2024 NCAA Championships on May 24-29 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa at Carlsbad, Calif. The Ducks are the fourth seed in Baton Rouge in a field that features five top-25 teams, including the top overall seed Auburn.
This is Oregon’s 30th trip to the NCAA regional in program history. The Ducks are looking to advance to the NCAA Championships for the third straight season and 12th time under Martin. Last season the Ducks finished third at the Bath Regional at Eagle Eye Country Club in Michigan with Owen Avrit tying for fifth individually.
