Moore selected by Mariners in MLB Draft

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon relief pitcher Brock Moore ran Oregon’s streak of top-10 round selections in the MLB Draft to 11 consecutive drafts when the Seattle Mariners selected the Ducks’ right-hander in the seventh round on day two of the draft. 

The selection marked the 13th time the Ducks have had a top-10 round pick in the in the 15 drafts (not counting the COVID-forced five-round draft in 2020) since baseball returned to Oregon. 

Moore was the 213th overall pick in the draft, tied for the 20th-highest pick in the modern era of Oregon baseball. Robert Ahlstrom was also the 213th overall pick going to the New York Yankees in the seventh round in 2021.

Moore was a key member of the Ducks bullpen in 2024 during his one season with the program. He finished with a 4-1 record and a 5.81 ERA with one save. The senior made 17 appearances including one start in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. He allowed 21 runs (20 earned) on 28 hits in 31.0 innings with 52 strikeouts and 20 walks. He held opposing hitters to a .241 batting average, while fanning 15.10 hitters per nine innings. He struck out an Oregon record eight consecutive batters in a come-from-behind nonconference win over No. 11 Oregon State on April 30.

In Pac-12 play, Moore fanned 27 batters in 17.2 innings (13.8 per nine innings) of work while holding Pac-12 hitters to a .227 batting average.
