TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson was included on the preseason watch list for the 2024 Biletnikoff Award released on Wednesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes college football’s most outstanding FBS receiver, regardless of position.
Earlier this fall, Johnson was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award – given to the nation’s most outstanding player – and was also one of 12 players to land on the 2024 Big Ten Football Preseason Honors list.
Johnson was stellar for the Ducks in 2023 after transferring from Troy, setting a UO single-season record with a career-high 86 receptions. He went over 1,000 receiving yards in a season for the first time in his career with 1,182, third-most in UO history, and his career-high 10 receiving touchdowns tied for No. 4 in program history.
A native of Pinson, Ala., Johnson tied for the third-most receptions in a game by a Duck with a career-high 12 against California, finishing with 180 yards and two touchdowns. He secured the single-season receptions record in the Fiesta Bowl with 11 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown, ranking No. 2 in Oregon bowl game history for both receptions and receiving yards. Johnson and the Ducks will open their inaugural season as members of the Big Ten Conference against Idaho on Aug. 31 in Autzen Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT, Big Ten Network). Oregon came in at No. 3 in the preseason coaches poll released earlier this week.
