SCOUTING THE TIGERS:

Pacific is 2-8-1 this season and coming off a loss to Loyola Marymount in the team’s conference opener. Led by Co-Head Coaches Danesha Adams and J.J. Wozniak, the team has converted 14.5% of their 69 total shots into goals while posting 10 assists on 10 total goals. Freshman Siera McCallum leads the offense with four goals and one assist while the duo of Libby Davy and Sierra Schwarz have combined to make 69 total saves in net.

STARTING STRONG:

Oregon State was victorious in its last game, defeating the Gonzaga Bulldogs 4-2 at home to start West Coast Conference play with a 1-0 record. Goals by Hayden Wilson and Katie Godden fueled the victory as OSU finished with 13 shots (four on goal).

SHE’S A FRESHMAN:

Trailing 1-0 in the 32nd minute, Hayden Wilson got on the end of a corner kick, using the outside of her left foot to knock in the game-tying goal. Sunday’s goal against Gonzaga was her second in the last three games, having also scored on a corner kick against South Dakota State on Sept. 15, which also came off a feed from Claire Jones.

Wilson, who finished the game with two shots in 90 minutes played, has appeared in every game this season and is now in a four-way tie for the team lead in total points.

PRESSURE:

Two of the Beavers’ season-high four goals against Gonzaga came as the result of Bulldog miscues after Beaver pressure. In the 41st minute, tied at one, Aidan Brown made a run at the GU center back who played it back towards goal, but kicked it too hard and too far to the left of the ‘keeper, rolling into the net to put OSU ahead 2-1.

Just over three minutes into the second half, Paola Figueroa played a cross into the six-yard box that the Gonzaga goalkeeper misplayed and knocked into the net for the second own goal of the game, doubling Oregon State’s lead.

The Beavers added a fourth soon after and cruised to a 4-2 victory.

EARN THE SHOT, TAKE IT FROM THE SPOT:

In the 52nd minute of Sunday’s game, leading 3-1, Katie Godden was fouled in the box, earning the Beavers’ first penalty kick this season. She stepped up, fired to the left and scored, putting the team ahead 4-1 while also finding the back of the net for the first time in 2024.

Godden’s goal marked her third-consecutive game with points, recording assists against both South Dakota State and on McKenna Martinez’s game-winner at Wyoming.

COMEBACK KIDS:

Not only was the Gonzaga victory the second-consecutive for Oregon State, it was also the second-consecutive come-from-behind win. Having conceded four minutes into a game at Wyoming, the Beavers scored in the 85th and 88th minutes to leave Laramie victorious before conceding in the 19th minute and rattling off four-straight goals against Gonzaga.

GOALS:

Along with two-straight wins, Saturday’s win against Gonzaga marked the third-straight multi-goal game for the Beaver offense, who scored two apiece against South Dakota State and Wyoming before Sunday’s four goal explosion.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME:

Saturday’s game at home set a new attendance high for the season, as some 953 fans packed into Paul Lorenz Field to watch the Beavers and Bulldogs play.

What’s next:

The California road trip continues, as OSU will face Saint Mary’s on Saturday. Kickoff against the Gaels is slated for 4 p.m.
