EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men’s and women’s basketball teams will spend Sunday, October 20 mentoring aspiring youth basketball players and connecting with local fans in Portland.
The Ducks will start their day of community outreach as guest coaches at Jordan Kent’s Just Kids Skills Camp at the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center in Beaverton. Camp is split into two sessions, grades K-5 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. PT and grades 6-8 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. PT. Registration opens today and is limited to the first 300 registrants for each session. Each camper will experience hands on instruction, face time with Oregon student-athletes, and take away memorabilia courtesy of Toyota. All participants must pre-register online.
Later in the afternoon, the teams will host a skills exhibition at West Linn High School at 5:30 p.m. PT. Admission is free, but tickets must be claimed in advance and capacity is 1,000. The first 30 youth between grades K-6 to sign up will have the opportunity to join the teams for warmups and team huddles at the start of the exhibition. Doors open at 5 p.m. PT.
