IRVING, Texas – Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel was announced as one of 16 finalists for the 2024 William V.Campbell Trophy on Wednesday by the National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame.

The William V. Campbell Trophy is college football’s premier scholar-athlete award that annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. The 16 finalists will each receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2024 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments.

Gabriel becomes the fifth Oregon player to be named a NFF National Scholar-Athlete, joining fellow quarterbacks Bo Nix (2023), Justin Herbert (2019), Dennis Dixon (2007) and Bill Musgrave (1990). Nix won the 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy last year with the Ducks, and Herbert was the award’s recipient in 2019.
