ATLANTA — The Oregon women’s golf team will face LSU on Tuesday in a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Championships quarterfinals after finishing third in the stroke-play round of the East Lake Cup on Monday at East Lake Golf Club.
The Ducks and Tigers will square off in the semifinals of the East Lake Cup, with the winner advancing to the championship match on Wednesday. Golf Channel will have live coverage of the action beginning at Noon PT both days.
Oregon defeated LSU in the quarterfinals of last spring’s NCAA Championships, advancing to the semifinals for the second time in three years. Sophomores Kiara Romero, Karen Tsuru and Ting-Hsuan Huang were part of that victory over LSU, and are joined by true freshmen Tong An and Suvichaya Vinijchaitham in this week’s East Lake Cup lineup.
How it Happened: The Ducks finished third in the lone round of stroke play on Monday, shooting 6-over par. USC earned the top seed in match play at 6-under par, with LSU in second at even par and UCLA in fourth at 9 over.
Oregon was led by Vinijchaitham, who placed fourth individually with a 2-under 70. She made four total birdies, including three on the front nine, and was 2 under across her final 13 holes.
An shot a 2-over 74, and both Huang and Tsuru came in one shot behind at 75 to round out Oregon’s counting scores.
