Grinsell Named Preseason All-America by D1Baseball

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon starting pitcher Grayson Grinsell has been named second-team preseason All-America by D1Baseball.

Grinsell (Reno, Nev. / Reno HS), finished the 2024 season 7-2 with a 4.08 ERA with 99 strikeouts in 79.1 innings of work while allowing 37 runs (36 earned) on 54 hits with 44 walks. The Ducks’ Saturday starter held opposing hitters to a Pac-12 Conference-best .196 batting average, while finishing with six quality starts including a pair against nationally-ranked teams (at #13 Oregon State, at #18 UC Santa Barbara). The lefty led the Pac-12 and ranked 19th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (6.13), finished third in the Pac-12 and ranked 51st nationally in strikeouts per nine innings, while ranking fourth in strikeouts in league play and 53rd nationally.

Grinsell also ranked in the top 10 in the Pac-12 in wins (T3rd), ERA (7th) and batters struck out looking (T8th, 23). In Pac-12 Conference games, he went 4-1 with a 4.35 ERA while making nine starts and pitching twice out of the bullpen. Grinsell struck out 66 Pac-12 hitters in 51.2 innings while allowing 26 runs (25 earned) on 38 hits with 28 walks. He held opposing conference hitters to a .207 batting average, which ranked first in the Pac-12. Grinsell also ranked among the Pac-12 leaders in league games in strikeouts (3rd), batters struck out looking (T5th, 16) and wins (T8th).

An honorable mention All-Pac-12 pick last season, Grinsell led Oregon to its second consecutive Super Regional appearance in 2024. The Ducks’ left-handed pitcher earned all-tournament team honors at both the 2023 Nashville Regional Tournament and the 2024 Santa Barbara Regional Tournament. He also earned all-tournament recognition at the 2023 Pac-12 Conference Tournament.

Grinsell and the Ducks open their season against Toledo on February 14 at PK Park.
