EUGENE, Ore. – Melyssa Lombardi, who led Oregon to the 2025 Big Ten regular season title, was named that conference’s Coach of the Year on Friday. It is the first coach of the year honors for Lombardi and the program’s fifth award all-time.
Lombardi’s win highlighted a banner day of all-conference selections for Oregon. Five Ducks were named to the All-Big-Ten first team, while two more made the second team.
Three Ducks made the all-freshman team, while an additional three Ducks were named to the Big Ten all-defensive team.
Rylee McCoy, who was named to all three teams, and Lyndsey Grein were unanimous choices for the All-Big Ten First team. They were joined on that squad by Kai Luschar, Kedre Luschar and Paige Sinicki as the Ducks placed a league-best five players on the first team.
Kaylynn Jones and Elise Sokolsky were named to the second team.
McCoy, Sinicki and Kedre Luschar were named to the All-Defensive Team.
Stefini Ma’ake joined Jones and McCoy on the All-Freshman Team.
Senior catcher Abby Mulvey was the team’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
It is the fifth time in program history that Oregon has claimed a league’s coach of the year honors. Teresa Wilson was the Pac-10 coach of the year in 1989, while Mike White was the Pac-12 coach of the year in 2013, 2014 and 2016
Five first-team selections is one off the school’s all-time high of six all-conference first team selections in 2013.
