Armas, Spikner, Williams Earn Preseason Honors

CORVALLIS – Three Oregon State men’s soccer players have earned Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference recognition, the conference office announced Tuesday. Javier Armas, Ellis Spikner and Dante Williams all earned the honor.

Armas, a Pac-12 Second Team selection last season, started the first 11 matches of the 2022 campaign as part of the Oregon State back line, before missing the end of the season due to injury. Armas’ season was highlighted by a two-goal performances in the Beavers’ 2-1 win at Denver.

Spikner notched three goals and two assists last season, as he started 12 of Oregon State’s 17 matches. He is serving as a team-captain this season alongside Armas and Nicklas Lund.

Williams was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention last season. He scored three goals and tallied two assists during the 2022 campaign, starting 14 matches, and netting the game-winning marker in the Beavers’ win over Seattle U.

Oregon State is slated to open the regular season Thursday when Florida International visits Lorenz Field. The game will mark the Beavers’ first contest under new head coach Greg Dalby.
