BANDON, Ore. – The Bandon Dunes Championship has been canceled due to weather, the competition committee announced on Monday afternoon.
The tournament, which was scheduled to begin on Sunday, had been shortened to a 36-hole event after the first round was canceled due to difficult weather conditions. Play began Monday morning and extended into the early afternoon, but winds and rain suspended play midway through the round. The tournament committee decided it would not be possible to play a fair first round in order to complete a 36-hole event and made the decision to cancel.
Oregon shifts its focus back to Eugene as the Ducks prepare to host the annual Duck Invitational. The two-day event will begin on March 25 at the Eugene Country Club.
