Williford joins the Beavers as a freshman out of Red Rock Academy in Las Vegas, Nev. He is rated as a three-star recruit, and is among the top-50 rated players at his position in this year’s class. Williford was a team leader and led Las Vegas, Nev. in scoring for two-straight seasons.

“We’re extremely excited to be adding JQ to our program,” Tinkle said. “We had him and his incredible family on campus last fall and knew he was meant to be a Beaver. He’s an athleticscorer that can play several positions, and really competes on the defensive end and on the glass. JQ is a very talented young prospect that should make an instant impact on our squad.”

Williford played AAU ball for the Las Vegas Knicks. He helped his squad to the Pro16 League Final Four, and earned the first place trophy for his AAU’s dunk contest. Williford prides himself on his work-ethic.
