CORVALLIS – Oregon State running back Jermar Jefferson has been named an Academic All-District 8 selection, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.
Jefferson, who majored in sociology at Oregon State, is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. First and second-team Academic All-Americans will be announced in early July.
The Harbor City, Calif., native was a seventh-round NFL Draft selection by the Detroit Lions; he left as Oregon State’s fifth-leading career rusher with 2,923 yards. He also ended his OSU career ranked fifth with 27 rushing touchdowns and 15 100-yard efforts.
Jefferson was the 2020 Co-Offensive Pac-12 Player of the Year per the Associated Press, just two years after being named a Freshman All-American and the Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.
