LOUISVILLE – Oregon State softball’s Frankie Hammoude and Mariah Mazon each garnered their second postseason award after receiving 2021 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Pacific Region accolades, announced Thursday.

The regional honors come after Hammoude and Mazon were named to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team on Sunday (May 16).

Hammoude earned her first NFCA Regional honor by being named to the All-Region First Team. Starting all 46 games on the season, the first baseman owned a fielding percentage of .982. Oakland, Calif. Native, she led the team with a .360 batting average, 49 hits, and 41 RBI in addition to a .765 slugging percentage and .456 on-base percentage. To close the season, the sophomore knocked four balls out of the park in the Beavers’ final weekend of play to total 17 home runs and break the seasonal program record. She earned the Pac-12’s final Player of the Week award for her efforts.

Mazon notched her second NFCA All-Region Second Team honor after receiving the award in 2019. The Tulare, Calif. native pitched 204.0 innings and struck out 204 batters during her third full season in Corvallis. Serving as the Beavers’ primary pitcher, she stood in the circle for 17 complete games, tallying one save and 14 wins with a 2.30 ERA. Starting all 46 games, Mazon also contributed to the team as one of the top hitters.
