Bittle Named Big Ten Conference Player of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon center Nate Bittle was announced on Monday as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week.

The Ducks went 3-0 on the week behind Bittle’s 19.7 points (.548 FG%, .500 3P%, .818 FT%), 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 blocks and 2.0 assists per game. On February 16, Bittle tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in the home win against Rutgers. Oregon then hit the road for a two-game swing, where Bittle recorded his third 20-point, 10-rebound game of the season in the 80-78 victory at Iowa on February 19, notching 21 points (8-13 FG), 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks. On Saturday, Bittle led the Ducks to a 77-73 overtime win at No. 11 Wisconsin, with a career-high-tying 23 points (9-17 FG), six rebounds and three blocks.

Bittle’s 58 total blocks this season leads the conference, and he ranks ninth with 199 rebounds. He’s one of four players nationwide to total at least 370 points, 195 rebounds and 55 blocks, and joins Chris Boucher and Jordan Bell as the only Ducks to surpass those totals in a single season since 1996-97. Bittle is the first Oregon men’s basketball player to earn Big Ten Conference Player of the Week and is the first conference player of the week honoree since Will Richardson in December 2022.
