EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon’s Jermaine Couisnard, N’Faly Dante and Jackson Shelstad all received Pac-12 postseason honors today. Dante was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team as well as the All-Defensive Team. Couisnard made the All-Pac-12 Second Team and Shelstad the All-Freshman Team.
This marks the second consecutive season Dante has been named to the All-Pac-12 First Team and the first time he’s made the All-Defensive Team. Dante averaged career-bests across the board, including 15.4 points (.677 FG%), 8.9 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.5 steals and 1.5 assists in 30.4 minutes per game. The six-foot-eleven center recorded seven double-doubles in 17 games played, including the last three games in a row. On the defensive end, Dante blocked one or more shots in all but two games, and recorded at least one steal on 13 occasions, with seven multi-theft games.
Couisnard started all 31 games for Oregon this season, notching a team-high 15.5 points per game, along with 4.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals. The East Chicago, Indiana native had 26 double-figure scoring outings, including five 20-point games and a career-high 39 points on the road at Arizona. The 39 points were the most by an Oregon player in a single game since Luke Jacksonscored 40 on 3/17/2004 against Colorado.
Oregonian Jackson Shelstad earned All-Freshman honors after averaging 12.7 points (.459 FG%), 3.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. The West Linn native started the last 25 games in a row and helped the Ducks finish the regular season with the third-highest assist-to-turnover ratio in the conference at 1.31. Shelstad recorded four 20-point games and net a career-high 23 points againstColorado. The performance earned him Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on March 11.
