CORVALLIS – Greg Dalby will depart the Oregon State men’s soccer program to become the new head coach at Air Force, Dalby and Oregon State Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Barnes announced Monday.
“I have loved every second of my time at Oregon State,” Dalby said. “This is one of the premier destinations for Division I men’s soccer. Thank you to the department, the administration, the players and the coaches for helping create incredible memories on and off the field that I will cherish forever.”
Dalby led the Beavers to great success in his two seasons as the program’s top man, taking Oregon State to the NCAA Tournament both years, including a run to the College Cup in 2023. The Beavers went 11-6-5 in Dalby’s first season, with a run that included four NCAA Tournament victories before OSU fell to Notre Dame in the national semi-finals. Oregon State ended the season ranked No. 4 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, the highest postseason mark in program history.
Last season Oregon State went 10-5-3, and made the NCAA Tournament. The campaign included a seven-match unbeaten run, as well as a 6-2-2 home record.
“I want to thank Coach Dalby for his dedication and hard work in leading the Oregon State men’s soccer program over the last two seasons,” Barnes said. “He has done a phenomenal job of coaching the Beavers to success on the field, and put a great deal of care and effort into helping his student-athletes develop into well rounded young men. We understand that family considerations make this the right time and the best decision for Greg and his family. We wish him the very best in the future.”
Four Beavers earned All-America recognition under Dalby, as Sergi Solans, Arnau Farnos, Logan Farrington and Javier Armas all took the honor. Seven players earned All-Region honors over the last two years.
Six of Dalby’s Oregon State players were selected over the last two MLS SuperDrafts, headlined by first round selections Logan Farrington (No. 3 overall), Enzo Newman (No. 11) and Sergi Solans (No. 30).
Jarred Brookins will take over as interim head coach while Oregon State begins a national search for its next men’s soccer coach.
