Daniel Robertson Joins Mitch Canham’s Staff

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Former Oregon State outfielder and Major Leaguer Daniel Robertson has joined the coaching staff under Pat Casey Head Baseball Coach Mitch Canham. Robertson will serve as an undergraduate assistant coach.

“Our baseball family is extremely blessed to have Daniel back home,” Canham said. “He was an inspiration while he was here as a Beav and went on to have an amazing professional career, making it all the way to the big leagues and being very productive while he was there.

“His work ethic is second-to-none and his passion for teaching is incredible. There are very few people in the world who have his energy. He is a sparkplug and I know that overall we are very lucky to have him here working with our outfielders, offense and baserunners. As a professional and collegiate athlete, he worked and did everything the right way. I know he will bring the right skillset here to help us get better.”

Robertson played for the Beavers in 2008 after transferring from Concordia. He batted .327 as a senior with Oregon State, collecting 12 doubles, a triple, two home runs and 27 runs batted in. He was drafted in the 33rd round after that season by San Diego.
