Dante Named to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior N’Faly Dante was one of 20 players nationally named to the 2024 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award watch list by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday.

Dante recorded team highs of 13.5 points (.642 FG%), 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks last season, earning first team All-Pac-12 honors.  The Bamako, Mali native recorded nine double-doubles and ranked second in the conference in field goal percentage. He enters the season atop the school’s all-time field goal percentage list at 63.7 percent, shooting over 60 percent in each of his four seasons on campus.

The list will be narrowed down to 10 players in late January, with plans to announce the five finalists in late February. Dante is the first Oregon player to enter the season on the Center of the Year Award watch list since Bol Bol prior to the 2018-19 season. Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting, presented by Dell Technologies, in each of the three rounds starting today.
