DONOVAN CLINGAN NAMED TO NBA ALL-ROOKIE SECOND TEAM

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 20, 2025)The NBA announced today that Trail Blazers center Donovan Clingan has been selected to the 2024-25 NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Clingan is the first Trail Blazer to earn All-Rookie Team honors since Damian Lillard in 2012-13 and 15th player to do so in the team’s history.

The No. 7 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Clingan appeared in 67 games (37 starts) during his first NBA season, averaging 6.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 19.8 minutes per game on 53.9% shooting from the field.

A starter in his final 27 games of the season, Clingan stood out on the defensive end of the floor for Portland as a rookie. Among qualifying players, Clingan led the entire NBA in contested shots per 36 minutes (17.6) and ranked fifth in blocked shots per game (1.6).

On the offensive glass, the Bristol, Connecticut native also led the entire league in offensive rebounds per 36 minutes (5.9) (min. 1000 minutes).

Among qualifying rookies during the 2024-25 season, Clingan ranked first in blocks per game (1.6) and third in rebounds per game (7.9), while ranking fourth in field goal percentage (.539) among players who attempted at least 200 field goals. Clingan grabbed 527 total rebounds and 217 offensive rebounds during his rookie campaign—both marks the most by a rookie in team history.
