TUCSON, Ariz. – Oregon opened Pac-12 play with a 3-0 loss at Arizona Friday at Mulcahy Soccer Stadium.
The Wildcats (4-2-3, 1-0-0) scored once in the first half and twice after halftime.
“We are disappointed as a team in how we conceded the first goal,” said coach Graeme Abel. “We pride ourselves on how we defend the phases on set pieces.
“But we responded well and felt getting the next goal would allow us to go on win the game.”
How It Happened: Arizona scored the game’s first goal in the 14th minute and led 1-0 at halftime. The Wildcats added a second goal just 27 seconds into the second half and scored a third goal in the 61st minute.
