Ducks No. 15 in AP Preseason Poll

EUGENE, Ore. – For the second straight season, Oregon will open the year as a ranked team.

The Ducks were No. 15th in the Associated Press preseason media poll that was released Monday.

A year ago, Oregon was picked 14th in the A.P. preseason poll.

This is the Ducks’ fourth preseason poll appearance in the last seven seasons, all under head coach Dana Altman, who needs one more victory to become the winningest coach in program history.

Overall, this is Oregon’s sixth all-time appearance in the A.P. preseason poll.

The Ducks have two non-conference top-25 matchups on the schedule, versus No. 14 Memphis Nov. 12 in the Phil Knight Invitational at the Moda Center, and against No. 12 Seton Hall in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Nov. 27. Oregon could potentially face No. 8 Gonzaga and No. 9 North Carolina in the Bahamas tournament as well.

No. 21 Arizona was the only other Pac-12 school in the A.P. preseason top 25.

The men and women of Oregon will host the Green and Yellow scrimmage Oct. 30 beginning at 6 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena. That event is free to the public.

The Ducks’ regular season opener is Nov. 5 against Fresno State.
