Ducks open 2024 season vs. three Big 12 schools in Texas Tournament

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will face three Big 12 teams to open the 2024 season at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown Feb. 16-18 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The Ducks will face Oklahoma in their opener on Friday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. (PT) at the home of the Texas Rangers before playing Baylor (9 a.m.) and Texas Tech (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“The Oregon Ducks are excited to open the 2024 college baseball season at Globe Life Field for the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown,” head coach Mark Wasikowski said. “It’s going to be an awesome experience out there in Texas and a great opportunity for our fans to come and pack the house in one of the finest MLB venues.”

Oregon, Oklahoma and Texas Tech all played in the postseason last year with the Ducks advancing to the Eugene Super Regional. Baylor, who finished 20-35 last season, last advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

Oregon will face Baylor for the first time in program history, while meeting Oklahoma in just the second game between the two programs. The Sooners handed the Ducks a 3-2 loss in the Nike College Showcase at PK Park on March 10, 2012. The Ducks are 1-2 against Texas Tech all time after the Red Raiders won a three-game series in Lubbock to open the 2019 season.

General admission tournament passes and single-day tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m. (PT) at GlobeLifeField.com/CollegeBaseball.
