Ducks sending 57 entries to West Prelims

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon track and field team will be represented by 57 entries at next week’s NCAA West Preliminary as official selections were announced Thursday morning. The qualifying meet will take place May 23-25 at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif.

The Ducks’ 57 entries—27 men, 30 women—are spread among 42 individuals and four relays. The top 12 finishers in each event will then advance to the 2019 NCAA Championships (June 5-8) in Austin.

Oregon has already secured one national qualifier in freshman and Pac-12 champion Max Vollmer in the decathlon. Vollmer enters the NCAA meet with a personal best of 7,940 points from his Pac-12 win.
