EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men’s basketball has announced the signing of transfer guard Jesse Zarzuela.
Zarzuela spent last season at Central Michigan, averaging 16.3 points (.399 FG%, .356 3FG%), 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. In December, Zarzuela kicked off a stretch of seven-straight double-digit scoring outings that concluded with four consecutive 20-point games.
Prior to Central Michigan, Zarzuela played for Coppin State and led the team in scoring and assists with 14.7 points and 3.3 assists per game in 2021-22, adding 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 31.9 minutes played. He started 18 of 20 games played and was named to the MEAC All-Tournament team after helping the Eagles reach the tournament finals.
Zarzuela played two seasons of junior college before attending Coppin State, playing five games for Navarro Junior College and 11 for Missouri State West Plains. He spent his redshirt season at UTEP in 2018-19. The Houston native attended Spring Woods High School and was a two-time TABC All-Region 6A Region 2 team honoree and the 2017-18 TABC District 15 6A Player of the Year.
