EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon football team moved up to No. 5 in the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings of 2023 on Tuesday night. This is the 11th time in program history Oregon has been in the top five of the CFP rankings, and first since Nov. 14, 2021.
The No. 5 Ducks (11-1, 8-1 Pac-12) will square off with No. 3 Washington (12-0, 9-0 Pac-12) in the 2023 Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (5 p.m. PT, ABC).
UO has now appeared in the CFP rankings 39 times since it began in 2014, when UO went on to play in the inaugural CFP national championship game. This is the Ducks’ 24th top-10 CFP ranking.
The Ducks closed the regular season last Friday with a 31-7 win over Oregon State, now No. 20 in the CFP rankings. Arizona gives the Pac-12 four top-25 teams at No. 15.
