PORTLAND, Ore.
 – Portland Timbers midfielder Evander has been named to Team of the Matchday for Matchday 9, the league announced today. The Brazilian midfielder registered a goal and an assist in Portland’s 2-2 result against LAFC on April 13 at Providence Park. Evander’s goal came at the 34thminute of the match when he settled the ball with his chest and fired a volley into the top of the net.

Saturday’s match marked Evander’s third multi goal contribution performance in the 2024 campaign. During the match, the 25-year-old led the Timbers in chances created (4), crosses (5) and duels won (10). With four goals and three assists this season, Evander leads the team in goals and points (10). Notably, he has scored in three consecutive matches for Portland, while also tallying two assists in that span. Evander has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday three times this season, including being listed to the bench once.
