Fans and Community Invited to the Lexus Community Night at The Prefontaine Classic

EUGENE, Ore. – Fans of all ages and members of the Eugene and Springfield communities are invited to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon on Friday, May 24 for a full slate of family-friendly events at this year’s Lexus Community Night at The Prefontaine Classic.

The Marshfield District returns to Agate Street, serving as the meet’s fan festival named to honor a district in Steve Prefontaine’s hometown of Coos Bay, Oregon. This year’s festival will feature family-friendly activations, food and beverage tents, and fans’ first chance to purchase exclusive Pre Classic merchandise. Gates to the Marshfield District open to the public at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, May 24 and it is free to attend. Fans are encouraged to make their way to the southwest corner of the Marshfield District from 6–7 p.m. Pacific time for this year’s CITIUS MAG Live Show. The show will serve as an entertaining preview of Saturday’s events and feature athletes competing in the meet, ticket giveaways, merchandise giveaways, and interactive content.

The gates to Hayward Field open at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time for this year’sPeaceHealth Youth Meet. Kids aged 7–14 can register to run, jump, and throw at the meet co-hosted by TrackTown USA Jumps and Throws Ambassadors Brittney Reese and Kara Winger here (PreClassic.com). Registration is now open at no cost to participants, but is limited.

The Lexus Community Night at The Prefontaine Classic concludes with the opportunity to race a mile under the lights at Hayward Field in the Night of Miles. Heats begin at 8:30 p.m. Pacific time and will be seeded based on entry times. Heats will be run slow to fast, with the final heat beginning at 9:55 p.m. Pacific time. Tickets for the meet are now on sale, with prices starting at just $25. Customers are limited to purchasing a maximum of eight tickets and order processing fees will be added to the cost of each ticket.
