Fuenmayor, Johnson Pace Beavers On Day Two In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO – Mateo Fuenmayor shot a 70 in the second round of The Goodwin Friday to lead the Oregon State men’s golf team at the par-70, 7,193-yard TPC Harding Park.

Rylan Johnson shot his second consecutive 1-over 71 and he and Fuenmayor will lead the Beavers into the third and final round on Saturday.

Oregon State, as a team, shot an 11-over 291 and heads into the final day tied for 16th in the 31-team tournament.

Fuenmayor finished at par in the second round thanks to four birdies, including three on the back nine. He has eight over the first 36 holes of the event.

There are two par-5 holes on the course, and Fuenmayor has birdied them in three of his four attempts.

He and Johnson are both tied for 27th.

Johnson made two more birdies on Friday, and has five in his first 36 holes. He’s been consistent early on, shooting a 1-under on both par-3 and par-5 holes.

Jackson Lake shot a 5-over 75 on Friday and is tied for 109th entering the final day. Stanley Lin finished with a 5-over 75 as well on Friday and is at 11-over for the event, tying him for 132. Collin Hodgkinson is tied for 151st after shooting an 11-over 81 Friday, and he is at 14-over over the first 36 holes.
