Jackson Lake Paces Beavers After One Round At The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Jackson Lake posted a 71 in the first round of The Prestige Monday, leading the Beavers at the par-71, 7,100-yard PGA West Greg Norman Golf Course.

Four of the five Beavers at the event are within three shots of Lake, which included Nicolas Quintero at 1-over 72, Collin Hodgkinson with a 2-over 73 and Rylan Johnson at a 3-over 74. Mateo Fuenmayor finished the first round with a 6-over 77.

Lake is tied for 37th after day one, while Quintero finds himself tied for 56th. Hodgkinson is tied for 62nd, Johnson tied for 76th and Fuenmayor heads to day two tied for 104th.

The Beavers, as a team, are tied for 15th with Northwestern and Nevada. The three teams each shot a 6-over 290, but are three shots out of 12th and five out of ninth.

Both Lake and Quintero netted three birdies to lead the Beavers on Monday. Johnson and Fuenmayor each tallied two with Hodgkinson recording one.

Additionally, Stanley Lin is competing as an individual and is tied for 20th in his event after one round. Lin, a freshman, shot finished at par, finishing at 72.
