Jacobs Included On Butkus Award Watch List

CHICAGO — Oregon linebacker Jestin Jacobs is one of 51 players on the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award, given annually to the top linebacker in the nation.

Jacobs is entering his first season as a Duck after transferring to Oregon from Iowa. He is one of six Pac-12 linebackers on the preseason watch list.

The award semifinalists are expected to be named by Oct. 30, with finalists to follow by Nov. 20. The winner will be named on or before Dec. 6.

Jacobs and the Ducks open the 2023 season on Sept. 2 against Portland State in Autzen Stadium.

» Recorded first career interception on Oct. 9, 2021, vs. No. 4 Penn State.

» Rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports out of Northmont High School in the class of 2019.
