Jade Carey Set to Compete in 2024 Xfinity U.S. Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey is set to continue her pursuit of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games this week, competing at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. This event will feature two days of competition to determine several members the national team and the athletes who will advance to the Olympic Trials.
 
She’s set to compete in the all-around, beginning on floor exercise Friday night at 7 p.m. central (5 p.m. PT) and on vault Sunday at 6 p.m. CT (4 p.m. PT).
 
HOW TO WATCH: NBC Sports will have live coverage of the senior competitions. Friday’s competition will be streamed on Peacock or through the NBC Sports App which is available on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, Roku Channel Store, Apple TV and Amazon Fire; Sunday’s competition will air live on NBC and Peacock.
 
COMPETITION SCHEDULE (times listed are Central Time):
Wednesday, May 29: Podium Training from 5–7:30 p.m. (FlipNow)
Friday, May 31: Session 2 Senior Women’s Competition at 7 p.m. (Peacock)
Sunday, June 2: Session 2 Senior Women’s Competition at 6 p.m. (NBC and Peacock)
 
The Xfinity U.S. Championships will combine scores from both days of competition to determine the final results. According to the 2024 Olympic Selection Procedures, the top two all-around athletes, after two days ofcompetition, will be invited to the 2024 Olympic Trials and secure a spot on the National Team. A minimum of 10 additional athletes will be named to the National Team from the U.S. Championships and invited to the Olympic Trials in Minneapolis, Minn., scheduled for June 27-30.
 
RECENT RESULTS: Carey last competed at the Core Hydration Classic on May 18 in Hartford, Conn., where she won the vault with an average score of 14.225. She finished fourth in the all-around standings with a score of 54.400, and was fifth on floor exercise.

In April, she won the 2024 American Classic with a total score of 55.000, earning gold medals in vault and floor and a silver medal in beam. This performance came shortly after she completed her junior year at Oregon State.

Carey had an outstanding season at Oregon State, finishing as a silver medalist in the all-around and floor exercise at the 2024 NCAA Championships, where she set a program record for the highest all-around score (39.700). She also broke the program record for career event titles (117) and was named a 2024 WCGA First Team All-American on bars, along with earning multiple All-Conference honors.
