Johnson Named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson has been announced as the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Ducks’ 34-13 win at UCLA last Saturday. Johnson shares the honor with Michigan running back Kalel Mullings.

Johnson led the Ducks with 11 receptions for a season-high 121 yards and two touchdowns against the Bruins, catching multiple TD passes in a game for the second time this season and fifth time in his career. Johnson notched his second straight 100-yard receiving game, giving him six total with the Ducks and nine in his career.

Johnson will enter this Friday’s game against Michigan State (6:00 p.m. PT, FOX) in a tie for third in the Big Ten and 11th in the nation with 33 receptions. He also leads the Ducks in receiving yards (311) and receiving touchdowns (4).

It is the second weekly conference honor for Johnson, who was the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week after an 85-yard punt return touchdown in Oregon’s Week 2 win over Boise State. The Ducks have won three total weekly awards, with kicker Atticus Sappington following Johnson as the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Ducks’ win at Oregon State in Week 3.
