Krieg, Bazzana Homer In Loss At Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – Jacob Krieg and Travis Bazzana each homered as No. 6 Oregon State dropped a 9-5 decision to Oregon Tuesday night at PK Park.

Krieg hit a first-inning grand slam to put the Beavers (33-11 overall) up early, and Bazzana went deep for a solo blast in the second to make it a 5-0 OSU lead.

Oregon (30-14), however, scored nine unanswered runs for the comeback win.

Bazzana’s home run was his 21st of the year, tying him with Jim Wilson (1982) for the most in a single-season at Oregon State. The opposite field blast was also the 38th of his career, extending his program record.

Krieg, meanwhile, hit his eighth home run of the season, going deep to left on a 3-1 pitch from Oregon starter Ian Umlandt.

Jaren Hunter started and allowed seven runs – three earned – on seven hits in three innings. He is now 1-1 on the year.

Brock Moore, who struck out eight in three innings, earned the win for Oregon, improving to 2-0.
