Massey Tagged as Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

 

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State junior libero Grace Massey has been named as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week the Conference following last week’s 2-0 start to the league season the conference announced Monday.

Massey, who studies management, anchored the Beavers’ back row defense collecting a career-high 32 digs and added a pair of aces as OSU knocked off then-No. 24 Oregon in five sets on Thursday night. It was the first Civil War win for the Beavers since 2014.

The Beaverton, Ore., native continued to pass at an elite level in Friday’s four-set win over Colorado accumulating 11 digs, while serving another ace and dealing three assists.

It is Massey’s fourth career defensive player of the week award and is the Beavers’ first of the season.
