Ohio State and Oregon Score Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards

Buckeyes’ Chavez and Ducks’ Daughters claim women’s tennis weekly awards 
 
Player of the Week 
Teah Chavez, Ohio State

Posted a pair of singles wins on court two and was 1-0 in doubles (along with a 5-3 lead when the point was clinched), as Ohio State earned a pair of victories against Cleveland State and Bellarmine. It was the first time of her collegiate career playing singles higher than court four 
 
Won 6-2, 6-0 against Cleveland State and dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Bellarmine 
 
In doubles, paired with Luciana Perry to earn a 6-1 win on court two vs. Cleveland State and led vs. Bellarmine on court two

Freshman of the Week 
Patsy Daughters, Oregon 
Eugene, Ore. – Major: Undeclared 
 
Helped Oregon open its spring season with a pair of sweeps on Friday against Portland State and Montana 
 
Played both matches at the No. 3 spot in the Ducks’ singles lineup, while playing at the top doubles position 
 
Won in straight sets against Portland State (6-3, 6-1) and later in the day she beat her opponent from Montana, 6-1, 6-0 
 
In doubles, she and partner Karin Young won 6-1 against Portland State before a 6-3 win against Montana 
 
Daughters remains unbeaten in five singles matches dating back to the fall season  
 
Earns Oregon’s first Freshman of the Week honor
