EUGENE – After making the national championship finals in eight of the last nine years the sport has crowned a champion, Oregon earned the No. 2 spot in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association preseason poll released on Tuesday.
Led by fourth-year head coach Keenyn Won, the Ducks earned a pair of first-place votes from the sport’s 26 head coaches. Oregon returns 19 letterwinners from last year’s team that went 4-1 before the season ended prematurely because of COVID-19.
Highlighting the group of returners is 2019 NCATA All-American Addie Lacewell (Base). Lacewell is part of a nine-member senior class that will lead the Ducks, who ushered in a freshman class of 11 student-athletes.
Oregon will open up its season at Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday, February 21, when it hosts Arizona Christian at 2 p.m. The Ducks will also host Baylor on Saturday, March 6.
