CORVALLIS – Oregon State University Athletics announced a Beaver Salute is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11 when the football team hosts the University of Hawai’i at Reser Stadium.
This September 11 marks 20 years since the terror attacks on 9/11/01.
U.S. military personnel, including veterans, first responders and frontline COVID-19 employees will receive two complimentary tickets to the Oregon State-Hawai’i football game. There will be a field-sized American flag unveiled during the pregame ceremonies.
The game will be the second interesting non-conference opponent for the Beavers and will be the second straight nationally televised game to begin the football season as a result. Given the dramatic glimpses of success last season, highlighted by their win over the Oregon Ducks at Reser Stadium, the first home game of the year in front of Beaver Nation should be an amazing setting.
Especially if the Beavers are coming home from a road victory deep in Big 10 Conference territory. Head Coach Jonathan Smith has made clear the goal this season isn’t just to make a bowl game, but to make it to a great bowl game.
