Oregon State’s Rashed Jr. Named A Candidate For Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK  Oregon State redshirt senior Hamilcar Rashed Jr. is one of 30 candidates nationally for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award, it was announced Friday.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must play at the FBS level, be a senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Rashed Jr. is the lone Pac-12 Conference player on the candidate list.

A native of Phoenix, he has played in 37 career games for the Beavers, and has 122 tackles, with 34 tackles for loss. He’s also recorded 16.5 career sacks. He led the nation with 22.5 TFLs as a redshirt junior – a school record. He also set the school record with 14 sacks last season, with tied for third in the nation.

He’s been recognized as a preseason All-American and All-Pac-12 performer in 2020. In 2019, he was selected as a First and Second-Team All-American by multiple media outlets and as an All-Pac-12 First-Team honoree.
