EUGENE – It’s been a great couple of weeks for the Oregon Ducks Baseball team led by designated hitter/infielder Kenyon Yovan.
Today, USA Baseball unveiled the 2021 Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list today and Yovan is one of 45 players listed.
For Yovan, it is the second time he has been on the watch list for the nation’s top amateur player from the high school and college ranks. He earned a spot on the 2019 list as a pitcher and now is a member as a hitter.
Yovan heads into today’s game at Portland batting .321 with eight home runs and 24 RBI, while boasting a .565 on-base percentage and a .654 slugging percentage. Yovan is second in the Pac-12 in home runs per game (0.36) while ranking 28th in the nation. He also is in the top five in the conference in home runs (3rd), RBI (5th) and slugging percentage (5th).
