#OregonTF: Ducks Sending 61 Entries to NCAA West Prelims

EUGENE – The University of Oregon track and field team will be represented by 61 entries at next week’s NCAA West Preliminary as selections were officially announced Thursday morning. The qualifying meet, now a four-day competition, will take place May 26-29 at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas.

The Ducks’ 61 entries—34 men, 27 women—are spread among 46 individuals and three relays. Not including relays, Oregon will have 12 individuals—seven men, five women—competing in two events.

The list of UO men entered in two events includes Gaston Bouchereau (100m, 200m), Rieker Daniel (100m, 200m), Isaiah Griffith (long jump, triple jump), Jonathan Harvey (110H, 400H), Cole Hocker (1500m, 5000m), Jackson Mestler (5000m, steeplechase), Jack Yearin (1500m, 5000m).

For the Women of Oregon, the double qualifiers are Carmela Cardama Baez (5000m, 10,000m), Jasmin Reed (100m, 200m), Hannah Reinhardt (5000m, 10,000m), Alexa Webster (100H, 400H) and Danyel White (100m, 200m).

To mirror the format of the national meet, the preliminary rounds will be contested over four days with alternating men’s and women’s programs. The NCAA East Preliminary will take place the same weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. The top 12 finishers in each event advance to the 2021 NCAA Championships (June 9-12) at Hayward Field in Eugene.
