BERKELEY, Calif. – The Oregon State football team fell to California on Saturday in an afternoon matchup in Berkeley.
The Golden Bears took the game by a 44-7 score.
OSU (4-4) was led offensively by Ben Gulbranson through the air, who tallied 131 yards on 11-of-20 on the afternoon. Anthony Hankerson was limited to 49 yards on the ground from 16 carries. Trent Walker hauled in the Beavers’ touchdown – a two-yard reception from Gulbranson – and totaled 58 yards on a handful of catches.
A pair of Beavers – Isaiah Chisom and Skyler Thomas Jr. – totaled a game-high of nine tackles on the day but Thomas’ 6.0 solo stops paced the defense, while also breaking up a pass from the Golden Bears’ signalcaller. Exodus Ayers and Nikko Taylor each put up eight tackles and complemented with four solo stops. Oluwaseyi Omotosho was credited with a pair of quarterback hurries to keep pressure up on the opposition.
Oregon State will return to action following a bye week on November 9th against San Jose State. A kickoff time is still to be determined.
