Feb. 18, 2025CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following an abbreviated weekend due to inclement weather in Long Beach, the Oregon State softball team will return to action with play at the annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic this week. The Beavers will play six games from Thursday to Sunday at Cathedral City, Calif.’s Big League Dreams Complex.

0: The Beavs are the lone WCC team to not have had a runner caught stealing so far in 2025.

LOOKBACK ON WEEKEND TWO
• Oregon State dropped all three games played (in addition to the two canceled by weather) at the Wilson Invitational this past weekend.
ATOP THE WCC
• OSU is all over the top (or at least near it) in the stats for the WCC.
• The tandem of Ellie Garcia and Logan Hulon pace the league in Ks (47), fewest hits (47) and earned runs (20) allowed through two weeks.
• Hulon leads the conference with 36 strikeouts, as well as a WCC-high 11 looking Ks.
• Tristian Thompson leads the league with her 10 RBI.
• Paige Bambarger sits seventh in the league with a .450 mark at the dish and her .550 slugging percentage is ninth.
• With 28 at-bats to her mark, Jaeya Butler is fifth in the WCC.
• Bambarger (1.072) and Lici Campbell (1.006) place seventh and 10th, respectively, in OPS.
SEEING DOUBLE(S)
• OSU is just one of two with at least three in the top 10 in the WCC’s doubles leaders.
• Nikki Donahue (3) leads while Lici Campbell and Jaeya Butler each have 2.
WELCOME WELCOME!
• 18 new student-athletes joined the Oregon State program for the 2025 campaign.
• The new Beavs are from all over the country, spanning from Hawai’i (Donahue – Honolulu) to the New York City suburbs of New Jersey (Weir – Wayne, N.J.) and everywhere in between.
WCC ACCOLADES
• Campbell and Donahue were tabbed to the preseason all-conference team by the WCC.
• Oregon State was selected by the league’s coaches to finish third in the six-team conference.
IT JUST MEANS MORE
• Oregon State is meeting Tennessee for the sixth time in four years.
• In the stretch, OSU and Tennessee have faced off in the NCAA Tournament (2022) and in the 2022 and 2024 editions of Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
• The Beavers hold a 3-2 advantage in the series in this stretch.
• The Beavers have faced an SEC opponent in each of the last three years.

TOUGH TESTS IN THE NONCON AGAIN
• The Beavers will have seven tests against teams in the initial top 25 of the 2025 season.
• Oregon State will face #5 Tennessee, #12 Florida State (twice), #21 California and #24 Oregon (three times) in nonconference play.
Beaver Staff Notes
• Familiar faces will be all over the Oregon State dugout in 2025.
• Entering her 13th year, Laura Berg will lead the Oregon State softball program.
• Marcie Green will direct the pitching staff for the second season of her second stint with the program. She ended her first with the trip to the Women’s College World Series in 2022.
• Working primarily with the fielders and hitters, Matt Lisle is on Berg’s staff for the second year. Lisle joined Oregon State following experience across college softball, baseball and even MLB’s Chicago White Sox.
• Starting his journey from student manager in 2018, Dominic Garcia enters his second year as a member of the coaching staff. The Beaver alumnus worked his way up to head student manager to video coordinator in 2023 and will oversee player development, technology and data.
• Entering her fourth year with the program is Sarah Hoechlin, who serves as the Director of Operations. The OSU alumna spent two years as a student manager before a stint with the Corvallis Knights.
LOOKING AHEAD
• The Beavers will head southeast to the desert for the ASU/GCU Tournament, taking place in Tempe and Phoenix, Ariz.
• It will be the first time Oregon State will play outside of the Pacific Time Zone this season.
• OSU will matchup with ASU twice, Grand Canyon, Utah State and Seattle U.
